UNIVERSITY AIR SQUADRONS
The University Air Squadrons (UAS) is like no other university society. If you fancy doing something truly different, we give those keen individuals an opportunity to experience real RAF flying training, to see what RAF life is like, and to have an excellent time whilst you're at it. Not only is it all free, but you'll actually even get paid a small amount for the time you spend training. For all universities click here to find out more.
Of all the students who pass through the UAS, a handful enjoy it so much, that they apply to the Royal Air Force upon graduation so they can continue full-time. However, whilst on the UAS you are by no means committed.

UNIVERSITY ROYAL NAVAL UNIT
A University Royal Naval Unit (URNU) is a Royal Navy Training establishment connected to a university, or a number of universities concentrated in one area.
The aim of a URNU is to provide an insight into naval lifefor undergraduates-however, there is no commitment for the students to join the Royal Navy or Royal Marines after graduation. Even if the students do not choose to join the Navy afterwards, they will take away a greater understanding of modern naval forces with them into civillian life.
