The task of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) is to ensure the operational fitness of Army equipment. Whilst there has always been a requirement for qualified tradesmen and engineers, REME has been particularly key to recent operations with soldiers deploying to Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq.
150 Recovery Company acts as the ‘AA’ of the Army – fixing equipment where it fails or recovering it to where a repair can be made – which could be somewhere secure on a battlefield. The Company consists mainly of recovery and vehicle mechanics supported by a mix of technical storemen, administration and catering staff.
Training:
We train every Tuesday from 19.30-21.30 plus one or two weekends a month.
