Unit Role:

1 Signal Squadron is part of a Strategic Communications Regiment . We  provide Information Communication Systems to the emergency services and local government in a crisis.

There are opportunities to gain specific trades in the Squadron including :Information Communication Systems Operator,  Systems Engineer Technicians, Chef, Vehicle Mechanic, Stores Accountant, Medic and Military Clerks.

Soldiers from the Squadron have recently visited Cyprus, Canada, Gibraltar, South Africa, United States, Singapore, Zambia and Denmark. Members of the Unit are currently supporting Regular Army units in Afghanistan, Falkland Islands, Balkans and Iraq.

Training:
We train every Tuesday from 19.30-20.30 plus one or two weekends a month. Training opportunities includes parachuting, map reading, first aid, shooting, cross country driving, weapon training, tactics, leadership and adventure training.
