Unit Role:

253 Provost Company is a fully integrated sub unit of 4 RMP, a Regular RMP Regiment and, as such, provides support to 101 Logistic Brigade.

Since 2003 individuals within the Company have undertaken over 50 operational tours with the Regular Army in Iraq and the Balkans.

As part of a Regular RMP Regiment the Company trains alongside its Regular Army counterparts and individual NCOs have the opportunity to undertake policing and operational duties. The majority of training takes place in the Home Counties, in 2006 alone, members of the company trained in Australia, USA, Austria and South Africa as well as participating in the Annual Camp in Germany.

The Company is equipped with the new BOWMAN communication system and was one of the first TA units to be converted to this new system in 2005.

Training covers the full spectrum of essential individual soldier and Military Police skills and, additionally the Company participates in Adventurous Training and sport.Opportunities for individual advancement exist with attendance on Regular RMP promotion and specialist instruction courses.

Training:
We train every Tuesday from 19.30-21.30 plus one or two weekends a month.
