The Band of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment ( Kohima Band )

The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, known as the TIGERS, is the county Infantry Regiment for Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight, Middlesex and the Channel Islands. It can trace its origins back to the 16th Century and has been involved in virtually every campaign waged by the British Army. The Regiment has two Regular battalions and its own Reserve battalion – 3 PWRR is the Regiment of choice in London and the South East.
The TIGERS are a fighting Regiment – we thrive on complex, tough operations.  The TIGERS are:

  • Committed to the British Army's global operations and the people of SE England.

  • Ready, We train hard to fight hard.  Combat proven, relentlessly professional and utterly loyal.

  • Engaged. We maximise links with our recruiting heartland whilst encouraging diversity.

  • Proud.  We are forward looking, yet fiercely proud of our famous forebear regiments.

  • The TIGERS are recruiting and are looking for ambitious and determined individuals to join as either Army Regular or Reserves. #fiercepride

Many members of 3 PWRR have served very recently in Afghanistan and conducted exercises in Kenya, Cyprus, Spain and will be deploying to Estonia in September 2016.
3 PWRR’s Kohima Band is the only Army Reserve band in Kent and plays an important part in regimental life serving all three battalions.  Musicians at Grade 6 or above are welcome to apply to join our multi-capability band which performs at home and abroad.

Training is each Wednesday between 2000-2200 hours and one or two weekends per month.
