Waterloo Band & Bugles of the Rifles

The Waterloo Band & Bugles of the Rifles is an Army Reserve band based in Abingdon near Oxford. Being a reserve musician means that this is part time role, mainly weekends and evenings which has the flexibility to be combined with work, study, family, and other commitments. We wear the same uniform and get paid the same rates as our Regular counterparts but part time.
The band plays a wide variety of music ranging from traditional bugle marches to stage, screen, contemporary music and much more. As well as a marching band and concert band we have small groups and ensembles which also perform regularly and they are brass, clarinets and saxophones.
The Waterloo Band & Bugles performs locally, across the UK (United Kingdom) and internationally. Most recently in 2021 we travelled to Cyprus where we undertook a variety of engagements including concerts and parades.
Away from music there are also opportunities to take part in adventurous training, such as water sports, skiing, and sailing.
We are currently recruiting and are particularly interested in hearing from cornet/trumpet players and percussionists but welcome enquiries from brass and woodwind players and buglers.

We train every Tuesday from 19.45-21.45 plus one or two weekends a month.
