G Troop, 562 Transport Squadron, The Royal Logistics Corps is an Army Reserve Transport unit part of 151 Regiment, based at Gale Barracks in Aldershot. The Regiments Headquarters is in Croydon and has five transport squadrons based at Army Reserve Centres around London and the South East of England. 151 Regiment RLC is part of 101 Logistic Brigade. The Regiment is paired with 10 Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (Regular) and works along side them.
After initial training reservists joining the Regiment carry out driver training obtaining Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) and Hazardous Goods (ADR) licences. It recruits people from all walks of civilian life, including ex Regulars.
The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) is one of four Gurkha regiments currently serving in the British Army. It is a Theatre Logistic Regiment, which provides formation level logistics within a theatre of operations. The regiment was formed as a merger of the Queen's Own Gurkha Transport Regiment, The Gurkha Transport Regiment and The Gurkha Army Service Corps: which were formed as component parts of The Brigade of Gurkhas on 1 July 1958. 10 QOGLR are supported by 151 Regiment RLC (Army Reserves).
To join G Troop you must be between 18-50 years of age (Ex-regular 18-55). Prove that you either have a British Citizenship, or if you are a Commonwealth Citizen, Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Indefinite leave to Enter (ILE) must be stamped on your passport (Settlement) in the UK.
